Highly transmissive cover glass
The cover glass iplus HT for solar collectors, which is equipped with a highly transmissive coating, increases energy transmission by 5 percent – this means considerably higher efficiency in solar thermal energy use and photovoltaics, since more energy is available at the absorber surface.
The production of the highly transmissive layer iplus HT has been successfully transferred from the pilot phase to the industrial coating facility. The glass is now produced in extensive sheets (approximately 3 m x 6 m) with the highly transmissive coating iplus HT using a vacuum coating process.
At present, sheet size for glass with a thickness of 4 mm is limited to 1,500 mm x 2,500 mm (for a thickness of 6 mm: 2,400 mm x 4,200 mm), the maximum size that can be manufactured into single?pane safety glass.
