Well connected to the transportation infrastructure, the Interpane Sicherheitsglas GmbH is located directly on the A7 highway in Hildesheim. The company was taken over as a separate production site for safety glazing in 1986. Since then, the glass processing specialist Interpane has invested almost €13 million in the buildings and in extending the production facilities. Today, 110 members of staff use the most up-to-date machines to produce high-quality single-pane and laminated safety glazing on a production area of approximately 11,000 m2. In a three-shift working pattern, the factory achieves a production capacity of more than 150,000 m2 of single-pane safety glass and 80,000 m2 of laminated safety glass. The sales region stretches from Flensburg to the Frankfurt area and from Dortmund to Berlin; in the field of commercial property, Interpane Hildesheim delivers Europe-wide.
The product range covers nearly all fields of application – from simple single-pane safety glass up to bullet-resistant glazing. Apart from safety glass for window glazing, Interpane Hildesheim also produces parapet elements, frameless glass doors and whole-glass assemblies, room dividers, overhead glazing and walkable glazing for stairs or bridges. The new product range also includes special laminates with photo technology, HPL, heating glazing and switchable glazing.
One specialty of Interpane Hildesheim is single-pane or laminated safety glazing that is modified or decorated by means of ceramic printing or sandblasting. In response to the trend towards designs on safety glass, a new department with the most up-to-date sandblasting technology was put into operation some time ago. Here, panes up to a size of 2,000 mm x 3,000 mm can be processed. An additional facility for larger formats is in the planning stage.
Special products from Hildesheim include laminated safety glass types from glass that has been heat-strengthened twice. These high-quality panes are being used more and more often for overhead use and other construction applications.
Coloured laminated safety glass films with non-fade pigments have recently been added to the product range. They offer a wide choice of transparent and translucent hues.
In the context of the group certification of Interpane Glas Industrie AG, the factory at Hildesheim has an Integrated Management System with the sectors Quality Management, Environmental Protection and Operational Safety according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 and DIN EN ISO 14001:2005. The production processes are ecologically safe. The products are manufactured in an eco-friendly way.
